Tim Nash
Biography:
TIM NASH is the founder and CEO of Good Investing, and blogs as The Sustainable Economist. As an expert on socially responsible investing, impact investing, and the green economy, he is regularly featured in publications such as CBC's The National, BNN Bloomberg's Market Call, and The Globe and Mail.
Nash earned his BA in Economics from Dalhousie University and his Master's in Strategic Leadership towards Sustainability from the Blekinge Institute of Technology in Sweden.
The 2008 stock market crash happened just months after Nash graduated from his Master’s program in Sweden. Determined to carve a path in the sustainable investment industry, He decided to start his own company helping institutional investors find sustainable money manager. Unfortunately, Nash was early to the game. There wasn’t much interest in his services, and his first business model failed.
Teaching economics at Sheridan College to pay the bills, Nash opened a TFSA and started looking for sustainable investment options for his own personal portfolio. At that time, there were only a handful of options and he was frustrated with what he found when he looked under the hood.
He started his blog, The Sustainable Economist, in 2011 to help people who were going through a similar journey. People kept reaching out to Tim with questions as they got stuck and needed a bit of help.
It was clear there was a need for financial planning among sustainability champions, so in 2017 Tim stopped teaching and officially launched Good Investing. He’s been helping people get unstuck full-time ever since!
